how old were you when you first started using contraception; what method did you start with, and where did you learn about it?

21,The first contraceptive we as a couple used was the condom.This was when i lost my virginity, as our relationship progressed i moved to the combined "Pill" after i had an allergic reaction to the "pill" my doctor arranged for me to have an iud fitted,this method we used for 4 years until my first pregnancy,and after that we had another iud {coil} fitted because of my medical condition i am epileptic,then 5 years later we had another pregnancy, after that we opted for permanent family planning and my husband had a vasectomy done.

did your mother talk to you about preventing unwanted pregnancy? did she bring it up, or did you? did you discuss it with your friends?

all she said was stay away from boys and not to let any boys touch me "down there" I lived a very sheltered life at home and only met my husband by accident

yes i had an allergic response to the pill,it gave me sore heads
