How did you
first learn about sex? |
By accident
from a book!
| |
Do you feel
the information you were given was adequate? |
It was a start
- and I wanted to know more. It set an important precedent in my life!
| |
What do you
think of the quality of sex education today? |
No soul. That
never changes.
| |
Do you feel
that the media's obsession with sex leaves nothing left for parents
to teach their kids? |
A good parent
can teach balance rather than obsession, and maybe a bit above love rather
than just sex - something from experience rather than a textbook or a
cable TV show.
| |
Do you think
that sexuality education should be treated differently for girls than
it is for boys? |
No - both sides
should get better than they do now.
| |
Does the
advertising of "women's sanitary products" on TV bother you?
Yes - when
it's too prissy.
| |
How early,
is too early to learn about sex? |
It should be
a natural part of growing up not a secret to be revealed at the appointed
hour. Europe has a lot to teach the rest of the world in that regard.
| |
If you knew
then what you know now, what would you do differently? |
Be more patient,
more confident, more mellow & less shocking.
| |
If you had
a teenage daughter and there was a book available which contained graphic
information about female sexuality, orgasm, masturbation techniques -
designed to teach them everything about their sexuality - while recommending
the delaying experimentation with penetrative sex until of emotional maturity
(and legal age) - would you let her read it? (please give reasons why)
My children
should be as educated as possible, not keen to experiment because they've
been coddled. If it's not "forbidden fruit" then there's no
need to rush - and no need to make rash mistakes. I'd like my children
to live lives without regrets.

| |
How did
you first hear about exotic sexual practices such as fetishism and group
sex? |
My in-depth
research in public libraries!
| |
Do you feel
that the increasingly mainstream reference to these things is a good thing?
(ie: Threesomes and guy's facination with Lesbianism being a standard
punch line on sitcoms these days). |
On the one
hand it's good that we can talk about these things at all, but it would
be better if sex wasn't always a joke, and a dirty one at that. Funny/bad
words for sex outnumber the nice/warm/fuzzy ones several dozen to one.
