For the record, the vagina is actually the canal inside. What I think of as the face of the vagina—the lips, the clitoris, the clitoris' hood, etc. all the parts you can see—that is called the vulva. So, this questionnaire is about how you feel about how your vulva looks. [see vulva diagram] though I can't help but ask the question as: do you like the way your vagina looks? because that's what I've always called it...although, that's changing...—Alexandra

do you like the way your vagina looks? go into some detail about what you
do or don't like about it.
|
|
Yes, I think it's a pretty one. I didn't always feel this way;
I used to examine it under harsh bathroom light and fret about
how strange it looked. But just recently I spent some time looking
at it as a lover might -- while lying in bed with only a bedside
lamp on, holding a hand mirror. I thought it looked very lovely
and petite, wiith delicate inner lips and the vagina positioned
not far from the clitoris. The whole area was smaller than the
palm of my hand. I think that's why I've been able to orgasm
easily during intercourse. The action of my lover's cock in my
vagina actually pulls my clitoris taut and inward, stroking it.
So I'm happy with the way nature designed me.

have you seen
many other women's vaginas? in photographs or live? where did you see
them? did you compare yours to theirs? what did you think?
|
|
The only
other vaginas I've seen were in pornographic photos. And yes, I've compared
them to mine. I used to think mine was inferior in comparison to some
I saw in airbrushed photographs, especially since I'm not willing to
shave the entire area bare or get a Brazilian wax! It's enough to keep
it well-trimmed and neat around the edges, I think.

how old are
you? was this the first time you took a good look at your vagina? – if
it is the first time, did you expect it to look the way it does? how
often do you typically look at it? when was the first time you looked
at it?
|
|
I was probably
eleven or twelve. I didn't care much for what I saw, as it didn't match
up to the diagram in my parents' medical book. For example, in the medical
book the vaginal opening is clearly a hole, but I couldn't see into *my*
vagina. And my hymen wasn't hidden up inside like I expected; it was
right there and very thick and fleshy, kind of rosebud shaped instead
of flat. Also, after having sex for the first time at seventeen, I was
shocked to see that the hymen was still there, but it was as though the "petals" of
the rosebud were torn. These torn petals are with me to this day (I've
never had children).

have your lovers
told you what they think about how your vagina looks? what did they tell
you? did you ask them, or did they offer?
|
|
Overall they've
been very pleased and supportive, and most have been into cunnilingus
and pleasuring me, even some of them first-timers! I'd say all were positive
and said nice things, although one or two men have requested that I shave
myself bare. I tried that once...what a pain!

this conversation
makes me think...
|
|
That women
and girls should know more about their own vaginas, and that they shouldn't
be ashamed of how each of us are alike *and* different. I know mine is
like my face -- exclusively me, not to be replicated or replaced. I like
it!
