For the record, the vagina is actually the canal inside. What I think of as the face of the vagina—the lips, the clitoris, the clitoris' hood, etc. all the parts you can see—that is called the vulva. So, this questionnaire is about how you feel about how your vulva looks. [see vulva diagram] though I can't help but ask the question as: do you like the way your vagina looks? because that's what I've always called it...although, that's changing...—Alexandra

do you like the way your vagina looks? go into some detail about what you
do or don't like about it.
|
|
My labia minora are slightly asymmetrical and protrude. This used to really discourage me and I didn't want men to see me because of this. When I had my first lover though, he told me I looked perfect and that my vagina was pretty and since then I have come to accept it the way it is. All women are shaped differently and are beautiful in their own unique way.

have you seen
many other women's vaginas? in photographs or live? where did you see
them? did you compare yours to theirs? what did you think?
|
|
I have in photographs and live. I find it a shame that the protrayal of a woman's vagina is that of a pornstar - perfectly symetrical and small. It isn't realistic. The ones I have seen live have mostly long labia minora that protrude, which is quite natural.

how old are
you? was this the first time you took a good look at your vagina? – if
it is the first time, did you expect it to look the way it does? how
often do you typically look at it? when was the first time you looked
at it?
|
|
I am 26. The first time I took a good look I must have been about 14, when I first started menstruating. I mustn't look at it very often, I don't walk around with a mirror between my legs however I touch myself everyday, this doesn't necessarily mean masterbating, though.

have your lovers
told you what they think about how your vagina looks? what did they tell
you? did you ask them, or did they offer?
|
|
Either they didn't say anything or they found me beautiful. With my first lover, I felt insecure, and asked him if I was "normal". He told me I was perfect the way I was. Any man who loves you will say that.

A woman's vagina is something beautiful to explore. I don't understand why society makes things like this so taboo to talk about. It's something natural.
