virginity story 31
| |
what does "losing
your virginity" mean to you? - define the term, and then tell us
about what the experience signified for you...
I suppose
the technical definition is when a penis enters the
vagina, but it's somehow more than that. For me it was a
milestone, shedding light on something that was so shrouded
in mystery.
| |
what were
your expectations of what the experience would be like prior to losing
your virginity?
I thought
it would hurt more than it did. There was no
blood, probably had to do with the fact that I had been using
tampons for at least 2 years prior.
| |
how old were
you, and was this the age when expected or intended to lose your virginity?
I was
four days shy of my 16th birthday. I had always told
myself I would wait for the right time, and I still believe
that was it.
| |
what did
it feel like? was there blood? did your partner know it was your first
time and did you talk about it before?
It was
in a secluded field in October, with tall grass all
around and a big harvest moon overhead. Physically I was so
wound up with anticipation I didn't really pay much attention
to the physical sensations. We had planned it a week in
advance, as it was his first time as well, and had brought
two condoms "just in case". We ended up using them both that
night.
| |
what did
your mother, family, friends tell you about losing your virginity...
My
mom always had negative opinions of me, she still holds
the belief that I lost my virginity to my first schoolyard
boyfriend when I was 12. As I got older she became more
openminded and accepting of the fact that yes, her child is a
sexual being.
| |
what would/did you tell
your daughter about losing her virginity...
Make absolutely sure
you're using protection. You cannot
enjoy something so wonderful if you're preoccupied with
worry. And that it's a natural, normal thing she needn't be
secretive to me about.
| |
this conversation
makes me think...
Of how lucky
I am that my first time was so beautiful and
right, and how much I would like to re-live it.
