what does "losing
your virginity" mean to you? - define the term, and then tell us
about what the experience signified for you...

having
intercourse for the first time. i was not actually dating the guy but
had liked him for ages. I was 19 and felt ready despite not dating him.
it signified that i was now a woman and that by having sex you really
have to think about your responsibilities in life, especially about the
need for contraception as getting pregnant at 19 was not on the cards

your expectations of what the experience would be like prior to losing
your virginity?

it would hurt and that it would be with someone i had been dating for
a long time

you, and was this the age when expected or intended to lose your virginity?

i thought i would be about 17 or 18

what did
it feel like? was there blood? did your partner know it was your first
time and did you talk about it before?

it felt
great and didn't hurt at all. there was no blood and the guy knew it
was my first time. we didn't really discuss it but he did say that it
was my decision and i didn't have to do anything i didn't want to.

what did
your mother, family, friends tell you about losing your virginity...

my
mother didn't really speak about virginity as such, just spoke of sex
in general terms. more about protection than anything. some friends said
it hurt and others didn't. they all told me not to sleep with him as
early as i did. also that sex is not as mind blowing as you originally
think.

what would/did you tell
your daughter about losing her virginity...
|
|
i would tell her to
always use protection and to get extra protection like the pill or implanon
before her first time but to still use a condom. that she should never
be pushed into it and that it is her choice as to when it feels right
for her.
