virginity story 47
| |
what does "losing
your virginity" mean to you? - define the term, and then tell us
about what the experience signified for you...
the first
time the penis enters the vagina. oral sex doesn't count!
| |
what were
your expectations of what the experience would be like prior to losing
your virginity?
i was nervous
because i thought it would hurt. i had absolutely NO idea what to expect
because i'd never inserted a tampon or a finger or anything. i wasn't
even sure where my vagina WAS except for in a real general sense. that's
sort of embarassing to admit. anyway, i didn't really think it would
be very special... i kind of just wanted to get it over with.
| |
how old were
you, and was this the age when expected or intended to lose your virginity?
when
i was in fifth grade i expected to lose my virginity at eighteen, and
every year after that it went down a few months or years. i ended up
losing it a month after i turned fourteen. i think that was way too young,
in retrospect. but i am glad i got it over with.

what did
it feel like? was there blood? did your partner know it was your first
time and did you talk about it before?
i hadn't
discussed it much with my partner, but the option had always been there.
it really, really hurt, unfortunately. yes, there was blood. i absolutely
had a husband. i'm not very athletic... i never horseback rided or did
rhythmic gymnastics or fell on a fence when i was younger. it didn't
feel good at all... all i remember was how uncomfortable it was.

| |
what did
your mother, family, friends tell you about losing your virginity...
my
mother learned i was sexually active the summer of my fifteenth year,
and she subsequently took me to planned parenthood. that was nice of
her. i think she thinks i'm responsible enough to handle it. most of
my friends have had sex, so we discuss it a lot and joke about it. i'm
the only one who bled though! what an honor. not.

| |
what would/did you tell
your daughter about losing her virginity...
i would tell her to
wait for someone special. i konw that's hypocritical, but could you imagine
telling your daughter just to get it over with?
| |
this conversation
makes me think...
my current boyfriend,
who's really geeky and will probably never have sex with me until i'm
married to him and we're living together in palo alto.
