	what does "losing your virginity" mean to you? - define the term, and then tell us about what the experience signified for you...		"Losing your virginity" to me occurs when a man enters a woman through her vagina. I'm sort of on the edge of being a virgin, I guess. The closest I've been to making love was almost 4 years ago. A man I was dating briefly penetrated me, but once I started bleeding we stopped. I blamed it on my period, because I was too embarassed to tell him I'd never had sex before. Although I'm sure he had to know. I think that I was pretty stiff, because it did hurt so badly.
	what were your expectations of what the experience would be like prior to losing your virginity?		I assumed there would be some pain, but I was hoping that the emotional feelings and anticipation would help alleviate some of the pain. It didn't.
	how old were you, and was this the age when expected or intended to lose your virginity?		I was 25 when my first sexual experience happened. I never intended to wait that long. This is why I decided to just go for it with this guy, even though we hadn't dated that long. I knew him before we had dated, he was a friend. So I figured it was as good a time as any. I just wanted it out of the way. I was tired of being a virgin.
	what did it feel like? was there blood? did your partner know it was your first time and did you talk about it before?		It was very painful and there was an overwhelming pressure on my bladder. I felt like I was being ripped open and that I had to pee at the same time. It was very embarrassing to bleed on this guy, since I had not told him that I was a virgin.
	what did your mother, family, friends tell you about losing your virginity...		Nobody told me anything. My mom is very conservative and a lot of that rubbed off on me.
	what would/did you tell your daughter about losing her virginity...		I would tell her to wait until she is absolutely sure she is with the man she loves and that it is the right time for her. She doesn't have to be ashamed of waiting. I would hope that she would not feel awkward talking to me.
	this conversation makes me think...		I want to have a son. ;)
